Short term summer training (2- months) programme 

Introduction:

The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, (An autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India) Imphal, Manipur has been established to carryout research and development work in basic and applied areas of bioresources conservation, management and sustainable utilization of the Indian region of  Indo-Burma Megabiodiversity Hot Spot for  socio-economic development of the region.
Presently institute is carrying out reseach work in plant, microbial, fish bioresources and bioresources database development of the NE region. In order to exploit the bioresources of the region, institute need to generate new researchers and trained them through human resources development programme at IBSD, Imphal. This training programme will be helpful to motivate and encourage them in scientific research & developmental activities of bioresources management and sustainable utilization.

About Training:

  1. Training program should be offered as a short term (3- months) summer training program on Bioresources conservation, management and Utilization.

  2. A limited number of students (maximum of 14 students at present) of postgraduate courses of Indian Universities only recognized by UGC  shall be allowed to access the research facilities of IBSD under the supervision of the institute's scientists through a Summer training programme on Bioresources Management and Utilization for two months duration from May - June. Each scientist shall be allowed to undertake training prgramme with two students only.

  1. Eligibility: Students undergoing post-graduate studies preferably final year students from any recognized university with consistently good academic records.

  2. Selection criteria: Students from the NE region may be given preference for summer training program. Application should be forwarded by the competant authority of the University/Institution. 

  3. Advertisement: Information regarding the summer Training Program can be had from our website.

  4. Last Date: The last date for application for the Summer Training Program will be 15th March of every year.
