The institute maintains a full-fledged library to fulfill the needs of the researchers, policy makers and general readers. The Library has procured a number of books on specialized areas such as Bioinformatics, Medicinal plants, Horticulture, Natural Product Chemistry, Plant Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biopesticides & Biocontrol,Fermentation, Mushroom, Aquaculture and Fisheries, all coming under the purview of the research thrust areas of the Institute. In addition to these, books of general interest like those dealing with administration and finanace have also been procured. At present, library has more than 950 titles under the different specialized disciplines as mentioned above.

The Library subscribes to a number of international and national journals of repute. The Institute has subscribed to electronic journals (e-journal) facilities to cater the requirement of the scientists, in particular and the scientific community of the region, in general. The library has scubcribed to “Subject Collection - Agricultural and Biological Sciences” of "Science Direct" e-journal and also subscribed to numer of online journal through M/s Total Library Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi.

The IBSD Library is now facilitated with one Computer with 24 hours power supply, one e-studio Photocopier cum Printer and have the facilities of CD writing for the users.

The Library is going to inagurate and start CD Library facilities for the users with number of scientific CD ROMs and Software useful for the research and references.
